Bannock and Tea Events The purpose of the "Bannock and Tea" sessions is to help build bridges and foster positive working relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Edmonton. Invitations are extended to the Mayor and Edmonton City Council, city employees, Aboriginal organizations and the general public. Everyone is welcome to attend. In traditional social gatherings among indigenous people, guests are welcome into one’s home, or during social activity, with servings of bannock and tea. To honour this tradition, the Edmonton Aboriginal Urban Affairs Committee will make these available for all participants at our “Bannock and Tea Gatherings". 2007 Bannock and Tea Lunch Information on current and future events are updated on a regular basis.
